Baby swings have always been in demand because it helps the parents pacify a cranky or amuse a bored infant. Similar to other children’s items, it is very important that proper care and attention is given when buying a baby swing as it will not only affect the child’s enjoyment but most importantly his or her safety. Below are some things to look for when selecting a swing for your baby:
• Smooth edges – it is important that the swing has no sharp edges and no small parts or protruding hinges as well so as not to injure the child.
• Wide base – this is critical because it will prevent the swing from tipping over.
• Reclining seat – this is particularly needed for younger babies, look for models that have adjustable seat or those that allow reclining positions.
• Washable and removable padding – this will allow for easy cleaning and maintenance.
• Activity tray – this will further keep the baby entertained and preoccupied.
• Various swinging motions – this will provide you with options just in case your child likes variety.
