Mary is such an admirable woman. Her strength is beyond words. For such a frail looking lady, no one would ever imagine how she managed to survive all the trials that came her way. She left her home at an early age of ten because her parents could no longer send her to school. Wanting to continue with her studies, she lived with a relative who paid her to maintain the cleanliness of their little house. In return, she was given time to go to school at night, while she worked hard during the day. It was not easy especially for a little girl like Mary. But she was determined to succeed anyway. And true enough, Mary found herself graduating from high school. Because she knew that college would be expensive and she could not afford it, she left her relative's house and found her way to a slating and tiling company which hired her to be one of its staff. Mary proved herself to her bosses and after a while, she was promoted. It looks like Mary can look forward to better days now. |

Our bathroom at home easily gets cluttered with all the bottles of shampoo, conditioners and body wash accumulating in the shower. Each of the family members has their own brand of preference for these things so the containers for all these grooming materials just seem multiply on their own. Every time I step into the bathroom, I would be overwhelmed with the new body wash my daughter purchased or the new scalp conditioner my son is using. What bothers me the most is that these bottles are all over the place making the bathroom look so disorganized and untidy.

I still remember the day very well when I first met my wife, a hot summer's day. I was lounging under my instant awnings enjoying a cold drink when my brother asked me if I would teach him to cycle.
I had purchased a brand new cycle recently, and I maintained just as if it was my sweet heart. My brother was nagging me to teach him cycling. Finally, I selected a narrow road which connected two villages (to teach him on). The two sides of the road were filled with paddy fields. I was teaching him right there on this road. He too was learning the craft to my satisfaction. As he was cycling suddenly in a bend I saw a girl coming on a bicycle from the opposite side. The moment my brother saw her coming from the opposite side, he went into panic-mode and lost control and rammed her and fell down. The girl too fell down, but out into the paddy field. I still remember how she cried and shouted for help. I helped her climb up to the road and clean herself. Immediately after climbing up onto the road she scolded my brother angrily! When I offered her a cool drink, she refused at first, but accepted later. After finishing the drinks, she thanked me for my help. Later we met on that same road for many days and exchanged drinks - almost like our own private custom! |
