Adding music in to an ipod is not the same as adding music to an mp3 player

I have always been used to an mp3 player. Now I just got an iPod for a gift and I cannot figure out how to put music on ipod and make it play. I think I did it wrongly from the start. This is probably because I am used to an mp3 player where all I had to do is to send the music to the mp3 player or even copy the music to the mp3 player and it will be able to play the music. This is not the way you put music in to an ipod. If you want to put music in an ipod, you are going to need to have a version of itunes in your computer because this is the only way that you are going to be able to get music in. locate where the music in your computer is. Then after determining where the music is, you can then open itunes and then move the music folders from its location to itunes. Then after that, go to the option of sync ipod. You can either add the entire library, or you can add only selected few.
