A Roller Coaster Known Only As Pregnancy

When I got pregnant with my first and only child, it was big news. I was so scared I did not know what to do with myself. I was worried that I would be unable to take care of another human being. Each month passed so quickly, and at first I was sick all the time, nauseated by any and everything. I didn't want to wear maternity dresses either - they just reminded me of my pregnant state.

Month five came along and I found out the sex of my daughter. I instantly fell in love while watching her little peanut head on the ultrasound screen. It was amazing. My little one turned out to be late. She was due April 28th, but that day came and went. I was scheduled to be induced on May 4th, 2010, but ended up being induced May 4th at around 11am. My daughter didn't come until May 5th at three in the morning via a C-Section. It was nothing that I had expected. So now I tell everyone to expect the unexpected. Even if you suspect you will be having a normal delivery, be aware that anything can change so quickly!
